VIOLA L. (BRINK) DE BOER -  age 95, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was born August 1, 1918 in Edgerton, MN to Juriaan and Johanna Brink.  Viola was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a lifelong love of music and enjoyed serving her church as organist, soloist and secretary.  For over 30 years she taught piano lessons to numerous Christian school students, whom she remained friends with throughout her life.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. DeBoer; three brothers, Marion, Leslie, and Ronald Brink.  Viola is survived by her daughters, Debra (Robert) Fetter and Sylvia Fry; grandchildren, James T. (fiancee, Jennie Bell) Fetter, Will (Scarlett) Fry, Kristina Anderson, Sara Fry; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson, Lilly Hana; a sister, Rosella (Alvin) VandenBosch; sisters-in-law, Nellie Brink, Lorraine (William) Berghuis, Johanna Brink; several nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Douglas and Pat Door.  The funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, January 3, 2014 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church (190 - 100th St. SE), where she was a charter member, with Rev. Cal Compagner officiating.  Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Edgerton, MN.  Contributions in memory of Viola may be made to the Friendship CRC Building Fund.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Stroo Funeral Home in Michigan, and Friday prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 am at the church. Another service will be held at the Cololonia Funeral Chapel in Edgerton, Minnesota on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 10:45 AM with the Rev. Tim Brown, officiating.
