Telena “Teen” Hulstein was born December 29,1939, to Carl and Hattie (Weeda) Doppenberg in Slayton, Minnesota.  Telena grew up in Chandler, Minnesota, where she was baptized and made her profession of faith.  Teen graduated from Chandler Schools in 1957.   Following her education, she married Raymond Hulstein, Jr., on December 17, 1957, at Chandler Reformed Church.  Their union was blessed with four children, Randy, Calvin, Wanda, and Bryon and 59 years of marriage together.  The couple moved to California and returned to Minnesota in 1970, where they farmed and raised their family for 32 years by Hatfield, Minnesota.  Teen worked at Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota.  In 2002, they retired and moved into Edgerton.  On January 4, 2017, Teen was diagnosed with cancer and entered the care of the Pipestone County Hospice House where she died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the age of 78 years.

Teen was a member of First Reformed Church in Edgerton, Minnesota.  She was active in the life of the congregation in worship, fellowship, and serving in the Reformed Church Women’s Ministries.  She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, coffee with friends, bowling, and especially time spent with family. 

Telena is lovingly remembered by her husband, Raymond; two sons, Calvin and Bryon (Linda) of Pipestone, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; siblings, Alberta “Bert,” Garrett “Gary,” Sharon, and Marilyn all of California.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hattie; children, Randy Lee and Wanda LaRae; sister, Carol; and a brother, John.  Blessed be her memory.
