Randall John Kooi was born to John and Gertrude (Vander Lugt) Kooi near Hawarden, Ia on March 2, 1931.
He was married to Margaret (Mike) Jansen to which two children Verlyn and Loanne were born. In 1967 Randy and his children moved from Inwood, IA to a farm near Hardwick, MN.
Randy married Mary Ann Pool on Jan 12 1968 which added four more children to the family; Darla, Ruth, Mavis and Douglas.
Randy farmed all his working life. It was an occupation he loved. After retiring Randy and Mary moved to Edgerton and enjoyed many games of golf and cards with family and friends. He also enjoyed any activities their children or grandchildren were involved in.
Randy had a very generous heart. He loved his church & missions. Randy taught Sunday School and was very involved in the M2 program (prison ministries) for many years. Later he and Mary went on mission trips to Carey, Miss. He also enjoyed working on wheelchairs for Hope Haven.
Randy’s greatest goal in life was to impress upon his children and grandchildren the importance of having the Lord as the center of your life.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Kooi; his parents; two sisters Dreaka Van Ballegooyen, and Grace Harthoorn, one brother Peter Kooi; son Verlyn Kooi, 2 infant children, 2 infant grandchildren and 2 infant great grandchildren.
