Linda Hartog Obituary

Linda Sue Hartog, 66, of Edgerton, Minnesota, passed away on April 9th, 2020. She was born to the parents, Wayne and Helen Ellsworth, July 3, 1953 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She graduated from Tripp High School with the class of 1971. Linda then went on to study education at the University of South Dakota in Springfield. Linda was an avid musician, and played the oboe, piano and organ. She was involved in countless theatrical productions throughout her college career. In 1975, she graduated from school with a B.S.E. in Elementary Education and Library Sciences. 

After completing college, Linda taught in Waubay and in Chamberlain South Dakota. In 1981, Linda moved to Madison, SD and served as the church organist, among other things, for the United Methodist Church. Linda also taught 1st grade at Saint Thomas School in Madison South Dakota.   She was a notable member of the National Piano Guild Association, PEO, and Eastern Star.

Lindas was united in marriage to Stanton Hartog March 1, 1990.  They made their home in Edgerton, Minnesota.  Linda was an area substitute teacher.  She also taught band and choir at Chandler Christian.  Linda also gave piano lessons for many years.  

She enjoyed reading, watching movies, musicals, playing the piano, and most of all loved being grandma to her grandchild, Dylan. Linda will always be remembered for her smile, her kind heart, and her infectious laugh.

LInda is survived by her husband Stanton Hartog, daughter and son-in-law Noelle and Lee Nelson, Daughter and significant other Tiffany Haenfler and Ryan Meulebroeck, and Grandson Dylan.

Linda was preceded in death by father and mother Wayne and Helen Ellsworth, her sister Mary Nelson, and her brother Dick Ellsworth.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
