John Peter Krosschell was born on October 14, 1925 to Albert and Nellie (Schmidt) Krosschell in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He attended Edgerton Christian Elementary School. After his education, John delivered milk in Edgerton with his brother. The family moved to Pease, Minnesota, where John worked on the farm, milking cows. They moved back to Edgerton where he began working at Kline Tractor Salvage in Pipestone until they closed. At that time, John worked as a handyman. John retired and continued to live in Edgerton. He remained active in the Senior Citizen group, never missing a meeting or lunch. In February of 2015, John moved into the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where he lived until his death on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the age of 90 years and three months.
John had a strong faith in the Lord; he was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton. He loved to play games and cards. He was a fixer; John could find nearly anything and fix it up. He was a collector and a practical joker. John was a fun-loving guy, he enjoyed telling jokes and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed his time spent at the Good Samaritan Communities.
John is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Katherine Krosschell of Culpeper, Virginia; a brother-in-law, Arnold Kreun of Artesia, California; his cousins and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Peter, his brother Bernard “Demce” and his sister Bertha Kreun.
