Jeanette Christoffels

Jeanette Alyna Christoffels was born October 27, 1933 to John and Gertie (Van Pykeren) Spronk. She grew up in the Edgerton area. On April 9, 1953 Jeanette married Gerald Christoffels at her parents’ home. The couple farmed in the Edgerton area and moved into Edgerton in December 1987. Gerald passed away on November 11, 1988. Jeanette was a charter member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and loved teaching her children how to cook. Jeanette moved to Edgebrook Care Center in January 2010, where she passed away on February 18, 2016 at the age of 82.

Grateful for having had her as Mom are: Judy (Glennis) Breuer of Hull, Iowa, Donna (Ross) Loomans of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Karen (Marlin) Van Schepen of Edgerton, Gwyn Christoffels of Aurora, Colorado, Roy( Karen) Christoffels of Manhatten, Montana, Jan (Darrel) Wieberdink of Columbus, Nebraska, and Heidi (Tom) Remme of Luverne, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by her sister, Gert Krosschell; brother, Art (Mayme) Spronk; sisters-in-law, Maggie Spronk, Joan Spronk, Luella (Lloyd ) Schaap, and Carol Groetsema; and brother-in-law, Don (Alvina) Christoffels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; brothers, Henry, Bernard, and Gerrit; sisters-in-law, Alma Spronk, and Caroline Spronk; brothers-in-law, Pete Krosschell and Dave Groetsema; and granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Loomans.
