Ethel (Wolfswinkel) Gruys was born January 28, 1929, in Crookston, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Leonard and Pauline Risseeuw. She married Ceaver Wolfswinkel in Hull, Iowa on April 6, 1950 and spent their married life in California and Minnesota. Ceaver passed away in 1980. She then married Dean Gruys on July 23, 1984. Ethel and Dean spent their time in Edgerton until his death on July 11, 1997.
Ethel was an active member of the First Reformed Church in Edgerton where she enjoyed singing in the choir as well as singing with her brother and sister. She loved baking and stitching for her family and friends, caring for her flowers, volunteering and coffeeing with friends and family.
Ethel (Wolfswinkel) Gruys, 84, of Edgerton, MN died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, with her family by her side at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children, LaDonna (Dave) Wassink of Sioux Falls, SD, Rodney Wolfswinkel of Edgerton, MN, Gayle (Randy) Kirsch of Savage, MN, and Jeffrey Wolfswinkel of Chandler, Arizona. 15 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and her two sisters Clarretta DeGroot of Doon, Iowa and Bertha Kruizenga of Delavan, Wisconsin.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother and sister.
