Eileen Joan (Prins) Sankey was born to Gerrit and Josephine (DeJager) Prins on September 16, 1931, in Osborne Township, Minnesota. She received her education at the Chandler Public School. She worked at a grocery store for her uncle.
She married Willard Sankey on June 1, 1950, at her parents' house. They lived by Chandler and then moved to Leota in 1952, Where she was a member of Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church. Willard and Eileen moved to Edgerton in 1968. Eileen was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.
Eileen did woodworking in new homes while raising their children. Later, she worked at Edgebrook Care Center for 15 years followed by working for Pipestone County Home Care for 10 years, then she volunteered at hospice. She truly enjoyed volunteer work, including hospice care, thrift store, food shelf, and doing hair care for residents at Edgebrook. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Willard Sankey and 5 children: Linda Reasonover, Calvin Sankey, Rosann Vanden Berg, Dennis Sankey, and Kimbra Mooers; fifteen Grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Joann Van Peursem; 1 brother Daryl Prins; 6 sisters-in-law; and many friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Peter Prins and a son-in-law Frenchie Reasonover.
