Earl Lee Schuld was born to Fred and Edna (Kruen) Schuld on December 7, 1948 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was raised on the family farm near Edgerton, Minnesota. After graduation from Edgerton Public High School he began his career in farming.  On May 1, 1970, Earl married Patricia Sas and raised two children, Kayln and Vaughn. Patricia, Kayln and Vaughn entered heaven’s gates on June 10, 1986. On January 6, 1989, Earl married Audrey (Van Maanen) Dykstra and they had a son, Dustin. Earl and Audrey raised Dustin and Audrey three children, Cindy, Brad and Angie on the farm near Woodstock, Minnesota. In February 2012, Earl was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and in October 2012 he received a double lung transplant at Mayo Transplant Center in Rochester, Minnesota. On August 21, 2015, Earl passed away at the Pipestone Medical Center at the age of 66 years, eight months and 14 days.

Earl was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton where he served a deacon. He also served on the Edgebrook Care Center board. Earl took great pleasure in farming until his diagnosis and most recently enjoyed assisting his son Dustin where he could. He loved spending time with his seven grandchildren.

Earl is loving remembered by his wife, Audrey; four children, Cindy (Bryan) Santema of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Brad (Emily) Dykstra of Pipestone, Angie (Jeff) VanderLinden of Sioux Falls, and Dustin (fiancée Jenna Raaf) of Woodstock; seven grandchildren, Brooklynne Schuck, Ethan and Grant Santema, Briley, Paige and Shelby VanderLinden, and Carsten Schuld; his father, Fred Schuld; three siblings, Marlene (Randy) Bowen of Hermantown, Minnesota, Vicki (Bob) Stepanek of Brainerd, Minnesota, and Dale (Orla) Schuld of Edgerton; and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna; four brothers, Duane, Norman, Timmy and Gene; wife, Patricia; daughter, Kayln; and son, Vaughn.

Contributions in memory of Earl will be given to Southwest Minnesota Christian Schools or Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, Minnesota.
