Conrad Philip Mulder was born to Robert and Vera (Foelgner) Mulder on April 15, 1950, in Canby, Minnesota. He was raised on farms in Marble, Limestone, and Royal Townships of Lincoln County, Minnesota. On April 23, 1967, Conrad made confession of faith and became a member of the Tyler Christian Reformed Church, Tyler, Minnesota. He attended Ivanhoe Public School, Ivanhoe, Minnesota, graduating on May 30, 1968. While attending college, Conrad worked on the family farm and at a variety of jobs—including milk hauler, janitor, and short-order cook. On July 31, 1971, he was married to Karen VanLerberghe in Marshall, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Southwest Minnesota State College, Marshall, Minnesota, in 1973, he worked for a seed company near Springfield, Minnesota. In April, 1976, he joined his father in farming in Denver Township, Rock County, Minnesota. Conrad purchased an acreage near Hardwick, Minnesota, in 1983. He was divorced in 1994 and continued farming until his death on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the age of 62 years and 10 months.
Conrad enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and helping his mother answer the radio trivia questions. He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. He possessed an extremely intelligent mind and an innate mechanical aptitude. He also enjoyed seeing his grandsons.
He is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Craig Mulder and Keith Mulder of Hardwick, MN; two grandsons, Haven Kenneth Mulder and Sawyer Conrad Mulder of Pipestone, MN; one brother, Cameron Mulder of Kasota, MN; two sisters, Joette (Dale) Remme of Ghent, MN; and Leslie Mulder of Kasota, MN; four nephews; two grandnephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Julie Mulder.
