After his schooling, Adrian worked for the Woudstra Meat Market in Orange City, Iowa.  On May 27, 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy being stationed in Hawaii and serving in World War II.  After his service, he returned to Edgerton. In 1990, he sold his interests of the meat market to his nephew, Tom, but continued to work part time while also working with the Edgerton Burial Association.  On August 17, 1992, Adrian suffered a cardiac arrest which left him hospitalized until December when he was then able to return home. In September of 2010, Adrian moved into the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Luverne, Minnesota where he resided until he passed away on August 13, 2013 at the Sanford Luverne Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota.
